THE CURE have been nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!

“Wish" , one of the band’s most critically acclaimed and commercially successful releases will celebrate the
20 year Anniversary of its release in 2012 also.

Guns N' Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Beastie Boys have also been shortlisted for next year's Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

Joan Jett And The Blackhearts, The Faces, The Spinners and Donovan have also been nominated for entry next year. The shortlisted acts are chosen by a committee at the Hall Of Fame who then ask around 500 rock experts to vote for who they want to see inducted.

Between five and seven of the nominees are likely to make it for inclusion at a ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio, on April 1, 2012.

An act must have released its first single or album 25 years ago to qualify for induction. The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame was set up in 1983 to "recognise the contributions of those who have had a significant impact on the evolution, development and perpetuation of rock and roll".

Previous inductees include Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Tom Waits and Neil Diamond. For more infomation go to Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
