PT CUSTOM (2003-2004)

The double-hum ‘tele’ had become synonymous with Schecter since Townsend wind-milled with it on the Who’s ’82 tour.

Various versions of this concept have been a mainstay in our line.

We introduced the Diamond Series PT Custom in 2003 (based again on a similar US custom shop model).

The goal behind this guitar was the perfect ‘Les-Tele’. Features included a 22 fret 24.75” 3pc mahogany neck set into an arched abalone bound mahogany body with a quilted maple top. The rosewood fingerboard was adorned with our 3ply crown inlays. Grover tuners and Gold hardware were also standard.
The bridge was a TonePros locking TOM with Schecter’s string-thru body (in lieu of a stop tail).

The PT Custom also had two Duncan Designed HB-102 humbuckers, which could be tapped by pulling up on the Master Tone control … giving the guitar a wide array of sounds.

Two transparent finishes were offered, Antique Amber (shown) and Honey.

In 2004, Dark Vintage Sunburst replaced the Antique Amber finish.
The PT Custom was discontinued in 2005, when this body style was added to our BlackJack collection.
