A very cool, but short-lived instrument. The Banshee was only available from 2005 thru 2006.
Debuted in three finishes, Primer Grey, Black & Gold Metallic, and Marine Metallic (shown), the Banshee was a bolt-on retro inspired guitar featuring a 25.5” scale maple neck, rosewood board and a cool over-sized pickguard.
3-ply Block inlays, Grover tuners, ‘tele’ control plate and a Wilkerson VS-50 2-point vintage tremolo were also standard.
The Banshee was loaded with a Duncan Designed HB-102 humbucker in the bridge position (with a cool ‘grill’ cover as used on our Aviation series) and a slanted Lipstick single coil in the neck position.
A cool looking 5+1 headstock, with a throw-back looking Schecter logo and a ‘scope’ (originally used on some early model Diamond Series) added to the Banshee’s unique look.
In 2006, we tried to breathe new life into the Banshee but replacing the Black/Gold and Grey finishes with a ’60 inspired Metallic Red.
Very different looking and sounding guitar if you can find one.
