Tommy Bolan Talks about The New Doro Album

The long-awaited new studio album ‘Forever Warriors, Forever United’ from German metal queen Doro Pesch will be released on August 17 via Nuclear Blast. Schecter artist Tommy Bolan (who is known for his manic playing style on Warlock’s ‘Triumph & Agony’), will be part of this new album along with other surprise guests.

tommybdoro2 Tommy told us, “I am playing and shreddin’ on some tracks, and am a writer on some as well. Like Doro has mentioned; there are some surprises on   this album.” Tommy continues: “It is very cool and awesome that I am part of the whole album!”

Last year, Pesch celebrated the 30th anniversary of Warlock's ‘Triumph & Agony’ album by performing the LP in its entirety at select shows around   the globe with Tommy Bolan by her side.

Tommy describes his relationship with Doro as ”having great chemistry”, and that working with her brings out the best in his playing. “It is magnified   with the energy that she brings.” “Doro recently said, 'we are picking up where we left off.”
We asked Tommy if we’ll see him out touring with Doro, and if there will be more Warlock tours?

“Yes! There are already a lot of great upcoming Doro and Warlock shows/festivals that I will be part of (Wacken, Summer Breeze, Bloodstock, tbdoro Graspop, Villena Leyendas Del Rock, etc.), with more in the works."

You have a pretty big arsenal of Schecter Guitars. What is your ‘go to’ right now, and what will you be bringing on the   road?

“The staff and support at Schecter are awesome. My Schecters are all rockin’ and they all go the distance both live and in studio. They are built like tanks.” He continues: “My go to at the moment is one of my Blackjack SLS-Solo 6s with my NYC band logo on it. Also, I have a Solo 6 with the Warlock ‘Triumph and Agony’ cover on it that is awesome! Actually, a version of this guitar will be for sale in Doro’s merch store very soon. I also used my Hellraiser Hybrid Purple Avenger on the new album."
“As for the road, it can vary, depending on the shows but my multiple SLS Blackjacks and my T/A album cover axes are always there, and recently I have been shreddin’ on a Banshee Elite and a S-II among others. They are all great! It will be a lethal arsenal of Schecters on the road.”
