Lola Bates

Lola Bates (born July 10, 2001), is an American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, from Los Angeles. She grew up studying classical piano, and with an undeniable curiosity and passion for music, Lola now studies voice, electric bass, guitar, and percussion – all of which she performs on her debut album, Red Hot.

Once her demos were completed, Lola began collaborating with her father, film composer & producer Tyler Bates, and Grammy-winning engineer, producer and mixer Robert Carranza in the recording and production of Red Hot, slated for release in January of 2019. Her piano work was recorded at Capitol Studios in Los Angeles. It was on this same piano in May, 2014, that at 12 years old, she recorded the piano work for the Marvel franchise film, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1.

In January 2017, Miss Bates recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra "” as the solo pianist for Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 "” at Abbey Road studios.

In Summer of 2017, she performed in Malaga, Spain at the international film music festival, MOSMA, with Tyler Bates' ensemble and the Malaga Symphony Orchestra. Lola continues her work as an artist and session musician, recently providing back-up vocals on Marilyn Manson's acclaimed 2017 Heaven Upside Down album, and backing vocals on Manson's 2018 summer single release, "Cry Little Sister." Just after attending the NYU Clive Davis Program for Recorded Music in the summer of 2018, Lola performed live on the Howard Stern Show as the bassist for David Hasselhoff's performance of David Bowie's "Heroes."

In the process, she collaborated directly with drummer and producer, Scott Seiver, and several soloists including David Rallicke, of Beck and Dengue Fever. Her experiences recording and performing with orchestras inspired Lola to write string arrangements to broaden the emotional depth of her debut album, Red Hot. Two songs from Lola's forthcoming album are featured in the USA network series, The PurgeTV, and are currently available on various streaming platforms.

Lola Bates is currently performing in the Los Angeles area, while writing & producing new music, and continuing the development of her artistic voice.
